Product Designer — RASAYAN
Design for the pharmacist with twelve customers waiting.
What this role is, in plain words.
You will design RASAYAN end to end — the dispensing app, the owner dashboard, the onboarding, the empty states, the error toasts, and the design system that holds it all together. Figma is your day-to-day, but the work is research-led: you will sit with a real pharmacist in our own shop every week and watch them work.
We want a product designer with four or more years on B2B SaaS, ideally with some healthcare or operations-tool exposure. You should be as comfortable arguing about information density on a dispensing screen as you are about onboarding copy.
What is different here: the user lives downstairs. You will not have to imagine the persona — you will hand her an iPad and watch her struggle with your prototype on a Tuesday afternoon. That is rare, and it is the point.
A typical week.
- Run a weekly research session with our duty pharmacist or an external one — recorded, transcribed, summarised into one page the team actually reads.
- Design the dispensing flow against a real prescription pile, not a clean Figma mock with three line items.
- Own and grow the RASAYAN design system in Figma — tokens, components, guidance — in lockstep with the frontend engineer.
- Prototype interactions in Figma or code-adjacent tools when a static frame will not answer the question.
- Write the in-product copy. Tooltips, empty states, confirmations, error messages — the words are part of the design.
- Sit in on sales / pilot calls with shop owners and turn objections into design problems, not feature requests.
- Define and review accessibility specs — colour contrast, focus states, target sizes — before the build, not after.
- Maintain a public design changelog so engineering, support and the rest of the team know what changed and why.
Must-haves.
- Four or more years designing B2B SaaS products end to end.
- Strong Figma — auto-layout, variables, component APIs — and a design system you have actually maintained.
- A research practice you can describe — how you recruit, how you run a session, how you decide what to ignore.
- Comfort with information-dense interfaces. Tables, forms, dashboards, keyboard flows.
- Strong product writing — your tooltip is better than the engineer's.
- A portfolio that shows decisions, trade-offs and outcomes, not just final screens.
Bonus, not required.
If you have one or two of these, mention them in the cover note. Don’t self-select out if you don’t.
- Healthcare, pharma, clinical or lab-tool design experience.
- Some HTML / CSS fluency — you can read a PR and spot a mismatch.
- Multi-tenant or role-based product design experience.
- A second language used in the field (Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali).
Honest filters so you can decide before we both spend the time. None of these are deal-breakers if you have a different point of view — say so in the cover note.
- You prefer to design in isolation and hand off polished frames.
- You are uncomfortable being wrong in front of a user every week.
- You want a brand or marketing-design role — this is product design with research attached.
